Lytham Funeral Service was founded by David Pope in 2010 after working for Maurice Rawcliffe Funeral Director for almost 20 years.
David decided that after many years of only having one choice of Funeral Service in the town it was time for a more modern, personal and bespoke service.
So, Lytham Funeral Service opened its doors on Clifton Street, right in the heart of the community. David is now proud to be offering the community of Lytham a quality bespoke funeral service in a caring dignified manner which respects all faiths and traditions.
Meet Our Team
David Pope
David is well known and respected in Lytham for his care and sensitivity and has been a funeral director since 1987. David holds the National Association of Funeral Director’s Diploma in Funeral Directing and is also a Member of the British Institute of Funeral Directors.
David is a parishioner at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Lytham where he is involved in various roles. David is also involved with the Lancaster Diocese and is currently in formation and training for the Permanent Diaconate.
Jenny Pope
David is now joined by one of his five daughters, Jenny. She has been with the company since 2018 and is settling in well. She assists David in all areas and is keen to follow in Dad’s footsteps.
Gillian Pope
David’s wife, Gillian first entered the funeral profession in 1987 and is highly qualified being a member of the British Institute of Embalmers and a holder of the Diploma in Funeral Directing.
Gillian is also a fully qualified mental health nurse with a Masters Degree in Behavioural Science. In recent years she has worked in the NHS as a manager and in research and development and is currently a Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire.
